How to Decorate Your Office

Spending long hours in an office is a bit of a downer if you don’t have the right atmosphere and pretty sights. It has a bit to do with Feng Shui, but we won’t be getting into that right now. You can decorate, rearrange, and organize your working space however you want to, as long as it is pleasing to the eye and mind. Plastic plants and trees have made it so easy to create an ambiance that can uplift and motivate someone to work for extra hours. All offices need a bit of decor to enrich the working environment. Here are 5 simple ideas that can be used to redecorate your surroundings.

  1. The reception or lobby area-A nice large area can be lined with tall trees and plants. If the space is smaller then use leaves, faux foliage and flowers. Bigger plants and trees will make the space look smaller.
  2. No need to put a plant on each desk. The common areas can be dotted with littler plants. On each desk, a smaller floral arrangement is ideal.
  3. Executive offices need a good setting. It can be done with a combination of plants and flowers. Colored flowers add to the power of the room.
  4. The conference room can be well decorated with a combination of faux flowers and plants. this creates a positive vibe for interesting discussions.
  5. Always choose artificial plants, trees or flowers depending on the lighting of the office. For example, bright flowers in a dark room work best. If a room gets sunshine, a green cover provides shade and tones down the darkness.

The best part of using fake plants is that you never have to water them or watch them die! Happy Decorating!

Harnessing The Power Of Social Media For Your Brand

If your brand isn’t having conversations with your customers through social media, you’re missing a huge opportunity. According to a study by Google, 60% of people talk more online than they do in real life!

Social media has had an unprecedented effect on the way people interact with brands online. Today, a simple tweet can be the power a brand into the highly coveted Trending Topics of the day – fueling awareness and driving sales – or it can have the opposite effect and create a PR nightmare that a brand may never fully recover from.

To get the most out of social media for your brand, you need to be clear about your specific goals and the audiences you’re trying to reach. When you’ve set a solid foundation, there are many ways you can harness the power of social media to take your brand to the next level.

Identifying the topics that are top of mind for folks in your industry is a great place to start. When you have a list of potential content areas, start drafting a few headlines. And when you’re ready, you can get your team started on writing a few pieces that help get your company’s voice and perspective out into the world.

Sharing the pieces you’ve written is just as important as writing them, and your social media channels can be a powerful distribution channel. Consider your audience on each channel, and choose the pieces that will be most meaningful to them. You might be surprised at how engaging a thoughtful point-of-view piece can be – and how it can inspire people to share even beyond your existing network!

We are still scratching the surface of the impact that social media can have on business. The landscape keeps changing, but the important thing to remember is that if you start with a few small bets like the ones mentioned here,  you’ll learn what works best for your brand and you’ll be in a great position to harness the power of social media for your brand.

Uber App in Lebanon

uber

We think this transportation app in Beirut is just amazing. It’s like having your own personal chauffeur in a few minutes or even seconds without the hassle of calling to explain where you are. They did have a bit of a run-in with local taxi drivers last year, but I guess it’s sorted out now because they are up and running with regular operations. Uber operates in over 300 cities, and you can use it wherever you are in the world from the same account.

HOW TO UBER:

Download the application onto your iPhone or Android phone.
Whenever you’re ready, just request your ride and it will show you how long your driver will need to pick you up.

First, tap to set your pickup location on the map by using the GPS.
Request your ride and a driver will accept.
Enter the address or name of your destination.
After pickup, the application shows the driver where you’re going and it will show you the route and ETA.

Features:
You can also find out roughly how much your fare will cost before you reach your destination, so you won’t be surprised when your receipt is emailed to you.

Safety:
Every ridesharing and livery driver is thoroughly screened through a process that includes background checks throughout their time driving with Uber.

CASHLESS TRANSACTIONS PROTECT YOU FROM RISK
Fares are automatically charged to the rider’s credit card, so drivers can avoid the risk and hassle of carrying cash and making change. It also decreases the risk of being robbed since both rider and driver assume the other is not carrying cash!
If you’re riding with another Uber user, you also have the option to split the fare between both of you.

I think this is very important in the world we live in today and it makes life so much easier, and a great way to get around Beirut.

Quick, easy, and in style.

Custom-made Gifts, Posters, Art, Cards & More

A really good website to make and design your own t-shirts, gifts, or cards is Zazzle.com. It was the easiest and most practical one I found online. I’m into making my own designs and not just buying whatever is out there on the internet or in stores. If you do use it, show me what you’ve made and let me know what you think of their service.

How to Contour and Highlight Your Face

Hiring a pricey makeup artist just isn’t a viable option for some of us. But you don’t need a pro to achieve next-level makeup that’ll make you look like a million bucks!

Highlighting and contouring are two crafty tricks that you can use to enhance your bone structure and make it look like you’re constantly under the most flattering movie lighting possible. Even if you’re not going to an event, it’s fun to experiment with elements of drama in your makeup. This post will hopefully show you how to use foundation, concealer, and powder to put a spotlight on your natural gorgeousness.

What you’ll need:

A note on picking your contour and highlight colors: Don’t choose shades that are drastically lighter or darker than your natural skin tone. If you have fair skin, use a very light shade to highlight and a fair to medium color to contour. If you have darker skin, use a medium-toned highlight and a contour slightly deeper than your skin color. If you have very dark skin and can’t find a deeper shade of foundation to contour with, a dark eye shadow will do the trick!

How to do it:

Step One:

After cleaning and moisturizing your skin, apply your foundation all over your face using a foundation brush or your fingers.

Step Two:

Blend your foundation to about midway down your neck. Since skin is naturally darker there, this step makes the difference between the face and neck less stark.

Step Three:

Mix your lighter concealer or foundation with your regular foundation using a brush or your fingers.

Using a concealer brush or your fingers, apply the lighter makeup mixture to your T-zone (the area right above your eyebrows and the spot between them, if you have one; down the center of your nose; the middle of your upper lip; and the middle of your chin), your under-eye area, and right above your cheekbones.

Step Four:

Paint a thin line with this highlighting mixture right above your jawline.

Step Five:

Use a brush, sponge, or your fingers to blend your makeup until there is no visible line of demarcation between the highlighter and your foundation. You want this to look seamless.

Step Six:

The “contour,” or darker makeup, goes on the sides of your nose, right under your cheekbones, and around your hairline (the darkest areas). Then Blend it all.

Step Seven:

Apply finishing powder to your whole face to get rid of any excess shine and set your makeup.

Step Eight:

Add blush to your cheeks, moving upward from the apples to your temples, which are the pinkest parts.

And that’s it!

Freeman Coffee & Chai Energizing Paper Eye Mask Review.

Refreshing, energizing maska for beautiful and revived skin!

Beaus and Bows

Early morning mask timeHey there bow friends,

So today I did the strangest thing.  I woke up early to pamper my skin.  I know what you’re thinking.  “Tara, how could you possibly wake up early to do a mask before your 10 am class when you went to bed at 3 am after doing hours of  Organic Chemistry?  Priorities.”  Well.  That late night meant that my eyes were sore, stingy, and puffy.

I needed a quick fix and remembered that a while back I picked up one of these Freeman Coffee & Chai Energizing Paper Eye Masks. I had stuck it in the fridge so it could get its chill on.  I figured the coolness, much like the coolness of the roller ball in the Origins No-Puffery roll on,  would help depuff my little eyes away.

In order to help my eyes feel less like they had lemon juice in them, I…
